The best way to create amazing tools is to build them together with our users. We believe in open-source as a cultural and economic movement and the primary vehicle of the innovation and technology that drives humanity forward. We take an active two-way part in the open-source community by helping others, contributing, writing and sharing our experience and ideas.

The tools we create are built with respect and passion for software craftsmanship. We are here to create tools that impact the industry and change the lives of many people, and that we love and enjoy using ourselves.

We are distributed around the world together with our community of collaborators and users, so we prefer public asynchronous communication and other collaboration techniques that are inclusive and help everyone stay connected and involved. However, we also respect the need for human contact and connection, so we make an effort to meet virtually and physically.

We work backwards from the user experience. We respect data but even more we respect our instincts and intuitions, and make sure to actually talk to customers and not just use analytics. We believe that business should be done in good faith and decency, and won’t take a deal if we don’t think both sides are winning. We prefer to try things out in collaboration with our users over diving too deep into analysis. We try to be socially conscious and make a positive impact in our communities and not be arrogant about our privilege.

We applaud each other’s work and lift each other up, and when things don’t work out, we systematically evolve our processes like a well-oiled machine. We enjoy teaching each other things, and inspire each other with wild ideas that are never dismissed. We celebrate our individual uniqueness and quirks. We work hard, but also believe in living healthy and balanced lives, connected to the people we love.
